Introducing Virtue RF

Fractional radiofrequency microneedling combines fine needles with controlled RF energy delivered into the skin. The aim is to support collagen remodelling and improve selected skin concerns over time.

Virtue RF offers adjustable treatment settings and cooling features. Dr Ruban assesses the area, skin condition and treatment goals before recommending an approach.

01 / Precision

Adjustable settings

Needle depth and energy are selected for the treatment area and your skin’s needs.

02 / Comfort

Cooling support

Cooling technology supports comfort during treatment. Sensation varies; discuss numbing and pain management at your consultation.

03 / Planning

A personal approach

Treatment is planned around the concern being addressed, with follow-up to assess your response.

Microneedling & RF: what’s the difference?

Conventional microneedling

Fine needles create controlled punctures, encouraging the skin’s healing response and collagen production. It may improve some scars, fine lines and uneven texture.

Virtue RF microneedling

Adds radiofrequency energy to needling, producing a controlled thermal effect within the skin. RF is a different treatment technique with additional risks to discuss.

Virtue RF uses radiofrequency energy, not laser light. Your doctor will explain which technique is appropriate for your concerns.

What can we discuss?

A plan for your skin concerns

Acne scars & texture

Discuss depressed acne scars, uneven texture and visible pores. Scar depth and type help determine whether microneedling, RF or another approach is suitable.

Fine lines & firmness

Explore options for fine lines and skin laxity. The clinic’s Virtue Lift approach focuses on non-surgical tightening and contouring, following assessment.

Pigmentation concerns

Melasma and other pigmentation changes need an accurate diagnosis. Your doctor will advise whether RF has a role or whether other care is more appropriate.

For deeper or mixed scars, a combination plan may be considered. Learn about our acne and scar care, melasma care and fractional laser resurfacing.

Is treatment right for me?

Your skin tone, scar pattern, medical history and current skin condition all matter. Active acne or infection may need treatment first. Tell your doctor about medicines, recent procedures, cold sores, bleeding problems, poor wound healing or a history of keloids. Discuss pregnancy and any implanted electronic devices before RF treatment.

What happens during treatment?

01

Consult

Discuss your concerns, suitability, realistic improvement, risks and alternatives. Your treatment plan and quotation follow assessment.

02

Treat

The skin is prepared and numbing may be used. The chosen technique and settings are explained before treatment begins.

03

Review

Receive aftercare guidance and a follow-up plan. Further sessions depend on healing, response and your treatment goals.

Recovery & aftercare

Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness and pinpoint bleeding can occur. RF can also cause temporary crusting or grid-like marks. Recovery varies with the area and settings; ask about downtime before arranging your appointment.

Give your skin time to recover

  • Follow the clinic’s cleansing and moisturising instructions.
  • Protect treated skin from sunlight as advised.
  • Ask when to restart makeup, retinoids, exfoliating acids and other active skincare.
  • Avoid picking or rubbing healing skin and attend your review.

Possible complications include infection, pigment changes and scarring. Serious complications reported with RF microneedling include burns, fat loss and nerve injury. Contact the clinic promptly for worsening pain, blistering, discharge, spreading redness or changes in sensation.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions will I need?

A course may be recommended, with time for healing between visits. The number and spacing depend on the concern, treatment settings and your response; these are discussed after assessment.

When will I see changes?

Skin remodelling takes time. Changes may develop gradually over the weeks and months after treatment. Improvement varies, and no particular result or degree of scar reduction can be guaranteed.

Does Virtue RF hurt?

You may feel pressure, pricking or warmth. Cooling and numbing can help with comfort, but the experience differs between people and treatment areas.

Is it suitable for darker skin tones?

Suitability depends on individual assessment. Pigment changes can occur, so your doctor will consider skin tone, pigmentation history and the proposed settings.

Can I use a home roller instead?

Home devices are not equivalent to medical treatment. Incorrect use can cause infection, scarring or pigment changes. RF microneedling should be performed by an appropriately trained healthcare professional.

How much does treatment cost?

Contact our team for an assessment and quotation based on the treatment area and recommended plan.
